Thanet Waste Services Changed Daily Life for This Family
By removing the barriers poverty places on their education and providing the essentials every child deserves.
Over the past year, a local family have received help with food, school uniform, bedding, home clothes, world book day costumes and much more through For Every Child I Wish.
Each item met an immediate need, but together they did something a lot bigger.
They helped children attend school confidently, participate alongside their peers and focus on learning rather than worrying about what they didn't have. This is what happens when a community comes together.
"I am a single mum to two children and due to the heartbreaking loss of my sister, my niece too. My niece has sadly lost both her parents so I am her sole provider.
It can be a struggle to provide everything the three children need especially due to the cost of living.
For Every Child I Wish has been able to support me with food for the children when the cupboards have been bare. School uniform and school shoes as they are growing so fast. Plus help with Christmas and Birthdays presents so they haven't missed out.
My niece has just celebrated a birthday and thanks to their support she was able to wake up to presents picked specifically for her.
This help has meant the world to me and made life a little easier."

When a child doesn't have a bed to sleep in, clothes that fit, food in the cupboard or the right school uniform, learning becomes much harder. Confidence suffers. Attendance can drop. Children can feel isolated, embarrassed and different from their peers.
At For Every Child I Wish, we exist to remove those barriers.
We work directly with local schools to identify children who need support and provide the essentials that help them access education, participate fully in school life and feel that they belong.
